...Invitation Unveiled.....

So wayyyyy wayyyy back in August for my birthday, I got the most incredible card designed especially for me by my friend Jennifer. I knew the minute I saw it that it would make a super cool invitation for Patience's first birthday party. So I very lovingly kinda sorta took apart my beloved card to make a pattern. (I held my breath the whole time I was so afraid I was going to wreck it) The only thing that I changed was the size so that on the inside I could fit all the party details. Sometimes I think I am so creative, but then you get a card from someone else and you think ,, dang they are so much better than I am.. lol  I love this card so much I am trying to think about how maybe I can do Christmas Cupcake cards this year. So thank you again Jennifer for the wonderful card and the great idea.

...My First Bella...Ever...

Red today, in honor of my First ever Bella card!! My friend Jennifer sent me these because Riley has a jacket just like this one and I fell in love with the stamp, but just haven't gotten it yet. I am thinking that perhaps I have stumbled upon a new obsession!! I combined most of my favorite things in this card.. Doodlebug DP, my Snowflake EF from Cuttlebug and Glitter, lots of glitter, (Sorry Miss I, I know how much you LOVE glitter!!) You can't really see it, but her hood, cuffs and pom poms have liquid pearl fabric puff paint and glitter, and it looks pretty cool IRL if I do say so myself........

One again Linda Nicholson has posted a fantastic tutorial on SCS. This time for an Acetate Card that is totally awesome. There is actually a whole Gallery set up specifically for all of the cool cards that everyone has made. I love how they all look. Pretty fancy smancy if you ask me... I just used some red and light blue cardstock from The Paper Company. Michaels Dots and Swirls Red Ribbon,White Stazon Ink and The stamps are from Inkadinkado

I love the snowman and making this card today has suddenly put me in the Christmas Spirit, although while we were at Michael's one can't help but notice the gigantic countdown clock that Riley dashes over to every single time we are there and she shouts across the store just how many days, minutes and yes even seconds until Christmas. With all the commercials, and radio reminders, its kind of hard to not think about how rapidly it is approaching! Why is there never a countdown to Thanksgiving, why is it that we always go from Halloween straight to Christmas, Thanksgiving kinda gets snowed over (yes pun intended).. But I mean for Christmas cards, there are so many cute stamps, and I have yet to see a cute turkey........

Ok so not only is my sister Jamie ready to pop any day now, my cousin Catherine is due the 11th of this month and I just found out this week that two of my friends (Hi Jenn and Amy) are also expecting. So what we have here is a classic case of Baby madness. I am psyched to be able to get so much use out of this stamp set (Bundle of Joy from SU in case you didn't already know! ) I am still perfecting my gamsol technique, little by slow I am getting there, although I can now finally say that I have mastered the Cuttlebug and it has not beaten me...no more squished fingers or pinched skin (you didn't know they could be so dangerous did you ?? well they are !! ) So now that I have sent off my baby cards... I will just sit back and wait and I am sure that someone soon will be telling me that it is time again to break out the baby stamps so that I can make some more cards.. come on...who's next...things always happen in 3's...two down...one to go....any takers?????

....I heart Halloween...Still......

Ok so I know Halloween is over, and technically I should turn my thoughts to Thanksgiving, but I just had to post more pics of Riley in her Halloween costume. I love how this came out, It was my first ever costume that I made for Riley and if I do say so myself, it can out fan-freakin-tastic!!! What you can't see is all her missing teeth, which somehow made it even better, but she refuses to smile for the camera and let everyone see all the missing teeth. So now I promise that I will move past Halloween and start thinking about Thanksgiving, I wonder if Riley will let me make her a turkey costume to wear for dinner?????

How awesome is this card??? I love it...One because it is from my friend Karen (Miss Iowa to you !!) and Two it is for Halloween and it had candy in it!! Can it get any better??? It actually had two pencils which although I fought valiantly to hold on to, they seem to have disappeared with Riley, and the Kit Kat that was in there, I foolishly left in to show Riley how it fit into the card and then I had to split it!! UGH! I hate sharing chocolate!!! Although I will expect her to share all her loot tomorrow night with me no questions asked. I mean all that candy will not be good for her!! So with my tummy only half full of Kit Kat I will say thank you again to Karen for such a wonderful card and tasty treat..........

These are the favors that I made for Jamie's baby shower this past weekend. I love that we had it in October, because the pink M&M's are actually the breast cancers ones that are only out in October for Breast Cancer awareness month. Thank goodness she is having a girl because it would have been a heck of a time trying to seperate all the blue ones out of the regular bags. I borrowed the idea from a baby shower website online and I must say they are super cute and really easy to make and they were a huge hit at the shower, everyone loved them, then again, get a group of women together, and throw some chocolate in the mix and really is anyone going to complain???

Ok, so although my new full time "Job" has become searching for a job, I have managed to neglect many things (mostly the dishes and the dusting) I have however manages to remain crafty. I made these for Jamie's baby shower invitations. I love love love them, I had so much fun making them, I am thinking I need to go out and find more pregnant women so that I can make some more. I used green and purple b/c those are the colors of Patience's room and it has a butterfly theme, again Jamie has decorated her room with these awesome butterflies...threw on some ribbon and these really cute "It's a girl" (God I hope they aren't wrong!! LOL) and last but not least I used my Cuttlebug, have I told you how much I love my Cuttlebug? No? Yes?? Well it bears repeating, I heart my Cuttlebug (now if you are not a crafty person that might sound a little perverted trust me , its not... So now that they are arriving in mailboxes all over New England, I can safely post them and not worry about Jamie seeing them before she is supposed to!!!

..Something Scary This Way Comes...

So now that it is September, I can offically begin all my Halloween stuff...by stuff I mean decorating the house, making Halloween cards and shopping for the ultimate Halloween costume for Riley. I made this card for a swap I am in and I am not sure if it is enough. You know when you make a card, you think, I will just add a couple more eyelets, or some more ribbon, perhaps some glitter. When is enough, enough ? LOL , by the time I am done with some cards, I have to have the post office weigh the card and tell me just how much more postage I need to mail it. I can never get away with just one stamp ever. So what do you think? Is this enough, I still can't help but feel that it is missing something. Suggestions greatly appreciated.....

I actually have dried up the tears (now that didn't take long did it ??) and went made some cards. Can you believe it ?? LOL I made this for a friend of mine who is having surgery this week.. I could tell you her name, you all probably already know who it is , but if I blurt it out, then she would know, but she reads this , so she already knows ,, so now its not really a surprise now is it ?? So Jennifer, when you get this,, you have to act all surprised and in awe of my talent. I wish I could take credit for the whole dang thing, but the polymer flower is something that I did not make, I wish I could because how cool is that ?? Although I can take credit for the color combo,(like that is a HUGE DEAL right ?? )  I am really starting to love red, orange and yellow together, at first I kind thought it looked like the beginning of rainbow throw up, but the more I look at it , the more I like it. So when you look at this, think good thoughts for Jennifer, b/c at 12 colorado time she is having her surgery.. Lets all wish her a speedy recovery,, although I hear her husband is a pretty good nurse when she is sick, so maybe we can wish a speedy recovery, and a weekend full of being waited on hand and foot.. ......
