Here is an example of the conversation that took place in our house last week.
Me: "Riley what do you want to be for Halloween?"
Riley: " A Scarecrow"
Me: "Are you sure ? "
Riley: "Yes Momma I am sure"
Me: "Are you really sure, because I am going to go out this week and get your costume"
Riley: "Yes"

So I come home tonight, Riley is getting stuff ready for Girl Scouts tomorrow night there is a Halloween party, now its supposed to be 80 tomorrow way to hot for overalls and flannel, so I tell her to find her costume from last year, see if it still fits and she can wear that. She finds it, it fits and then I hear her utter the words that I think every mother cringes when they are spoken outloud, " Momma, I changed my mind, I don't want to be a scarecrow anymore, I think I will just wear this again", I'm sorry, I must have some hearing issues Riley, I thought you just told me you didn't want to be a scarecrow anymore, let me go clean out my ears and we can try that again, nope she is still saying the same thing, Scarecrow out, Sleeping Beauty in. Nice, now if I had taken a minute to think about this, I should have known that it was way too early in October to be comitted to a costume, but here I was trying for once to not be that Mom on Halloween, driving all over everywhere trying to find that costume, but I should have know better, for two reasons. One it was two weeks before Halloween and no kid decides that early, and Secondly it was too easy to find all the things I needed for her to be a scarecrow...........
